Beautiful pictures! I got my copy of this book last week and have spent the weekend pouring over it from cover to cover. As in most all DK published books the pictures in it are fantastic and are perfect for the beginner or even a crochet expert wanting to brush up on their stitches. The instructions for individual stitches are precise and well demonstrated with either a photo or clear drawing. There are also instructions for filet crochet, broomstick lace and Tunisian crochet. Great book for newbies like me! Update 7/4/15:I liked this book so much and kept checking it out from the library enough that I felt it was time to buy my own copy. I stand by my previous review and highly recommend this book. This is a great book for both the experienced AND beginner! This book is a KEEPER!It offers very good illustrated ‘how to’s’ with actual pictures of yarn, hook and hand placement – not just drawings. It even shows pictures for those left-handers out there. While learning to crochet, there are also over 80 patterns included. Interspersed with the “tools and techniques” there are simple patterns to practice on – even to make as nice gifts-dishcloths, potholder, cell phone cases.
